To be able to play Online Multiplayer, you need to sign in with a Paradox Account. It's not a stretch to see it's influence in Star Wars, Warhammer Fantasy, Warhammer 40K, Crying Suns, Homeworld, and dozens of other properties. Why do I need to sign up for a Paradox Account? It's kind of odd to think that Dune had such an impact on fictional works afterwords, and yet the Dune series is an easy series to pass up, or even to have never heard of. (hmm) He goes into the desert and leads the desert people out in a war, fulfilling their prophecies.Yeah I was looking it up, and apparently fans of the books were calling Star Wars a ripoff when it first came out, which only got worse when the third movie came out. (Bene Gesserit anyone?) Then there's a male character with their powers as the main character. There's a secretive political order of women with special powers that claim to be servants and have a connection to truth (they can't lie). It isn't just sci-fi, I read the Wheel of Time books as a kid before reading Dune and it's pretty funny. You mean a movie partially set on a desert planet with a secretive order that can influence people mentally with their words has anything to do with Dune? With the third Star War's movie being an example that should really raise some eyebrows. You can make a case that almost every sci-fi property released after Dune is at least partially shaped by it.
